Reporting to: Project Managers, Director of Production, Director of Operations
Supervision of: General Event Technicians, Operators, Casual Crew
Primary Function: Primary focus on screen management and LED tile; assess event requirements to fulfill client needs as outlined by Project Manager and adjust equipment and labour calls accordingly; lead and participate in all event-related activities, from set up, to operation, to strike, including crew/technician supervision and on-site client communication.
Working Conditions: Physical labour, indoor and out outdoor work, evening, weekend, and overnight work, mix of office, shop, and on-site event work environments.
Duties and Responsibilities:
● Installation and operation of LED video wall, projectors, and other screen management tools.
● Review event information as assigned by Project Managers; develop ground and power plans to support the realization of the event and adjust equipment orders and labor requests to fulfill event requirements.
● Update the Project Managers with equipment and/or labour adjustments needed to fulfill event needs in a timely fashion.
● Actively seek opportunities and complete necessary education or professional development to advance knowledge and skills of industry related equipment, software, and design principles.
● Lead event set up, operation and strike in a timely and safe fashion.
● Liaise with the venue to determine loading, ingress, and egress locations on the event day.
● Maintain a respectful and professional demeanor while engaging with clients, vendors, venues, and/or attendees.
● Supervise, motivate, and train (where required) small- to medium-sized teams in time-sensitive and demanding environments while promoting safety and adherence to company policy and procedures.
● Ensure frequent communication with Project Managers on all event activities, questions, challenges, and client feedback.
● Document and share event visuals for future business promotion (e.g. photos/videos of setup, decor, etc.).
● Support the Shop Lead in ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality warehouse operations.
● When required, transport equipment and other materials to and/or from the shop, venues, clients, or suppliers.
● Other duties as reasonably assigned and agreed to.
Job Requirements:
● Experience with LED tile and screen management for live event production.
● Experience and with lighting, audio, video and staging equipment (inclusive of installation, operation, and maintenance).
● Knowledge of power infrastructures and requirements for specific equipment.
● Ability to lead and supervise small to midsize teams.
● Consistently complete work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
● Valid Class 5 Manitoba Drivers License is an asset
Pay: $22.75-$23.50 per hour
