Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Ophthalmic Technician/ Assistant to join our busy eye care practice. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, professional, and able to thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment while delivering exceptional patient care.
Responsibilities
- Perform preliminary patient assessments, including medical history and vision testing.
- Conduct diagnostic testing such as visual fields, OCT scans, tonometry, and retinal imaging.
- Assist ophthalmologists with examinations, treatments, and minor procedures.
- Prepare examination rooms and ensure equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.
- Educate patients regarding procedures, treatments, and follow-up care.
- Accurately document patient information in electronic medical records Oscar Pro (EMR).
- Maintain patient flow and support clinic operations in a high-volume setting.
- Adhere to all clinical, safety, and privacy standards.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an Ophthalmic Technician (required).
- Strong knowledge of ophthalmic diagnostic equipment and testing procedures.
- Experience working in a fast-paced medical or ophthalmology practice.
- Excellent communication and patient service skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work efficiently under pressure.
