Floor Manager/ Cafe Attendant Position Overview
The Floor Manager is responsible for leading each shift in alignment with HAVN's standards and policies. This role sets the tone of the space operationally and emotionally, ensuring that the environment remains calm, professional, solution-oriented, and guest-focused at all times.
In addition to leading management shifts, the Floor Manager will regularly work lounge shifts, taking ownership of food and beverage service while delivering the same high standard of hospitality, organization, and operational excellence expected throughout HAVN.
The Floor Manager is responsible not only for overseeing tasks and checklists, but also for regulating the energy of each shift, guiding team performance, proactively addressing challenges, and creating an exceptional guest experience in every area of the facility.
The ideal candidate is reliable, growth-minded, comfortable giving direction, confident in having respectful but direct conversations, and able to transition seamlessly between leadership and hands-on service. They look for solutions rather than problems and actively support change management, particularly during events, busy periods, new systems, and operational changes.
Commitment Requirement
- Must be committed to working 4 shifts per week (including Floor Management, Lounge (cafe), and regular floor shifts). 1 day shift and 3 evenings.
- Occasionally available to cover a 5th shift and attend meetings outside scheduled shifts.
- 80% set schedule with evening and weekend availability required - flexibility required for sick and vacation coverage.
- 3 weeks of paid vacation per year.
- Additional time off must be arranged by securing coverage from another Floor Manager in advance.
Wage: $28/hour

ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team Management
- Supervise, motivate, and guide staff regarding timeliness, job duties, breaks, and performance expectations.
- Foster a collaborative, professional, and supportive work environment.
- Address unproductive behaviour promptly and constructively.
- Conduct pre-shift meetings and communicate operational updates.
- Ensure smooth shift transitions and effective communication between departments.
- Communicate feedback, operational updates, and staff observations to management.
Guest Experience
- Deliver exceptional, memorable guest experiences throughout the facility and lounge.
- Respond to guest inquiries and resolve concerns promptly, professionally, and with empathy.
- Maintain a welcoming, calm, and clean atmosphere at all times.
- Document guest complaints thoroughly and escalate when appropriate.
- Build positive relationships with guests while maintaining HAVN's service standards.
Lounge Operations
During assigned lounge shifts, the Floor Manager is responsible for independently operating the lounge and ensuring an exceptional food and beverage experience.
Responsibilities include:
- Prepare and serve food and beverages according to recipes and standard operating procedures.
- Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency.
- Accurately process orders, manage guest tabs, and reconcile cash-outs using the POS system.
- Monitor food inventory, product freshness, and communicate ordering requirements.
- Maintain food safety standards, safe food handling practices, and proper product rotation.
- Keep food preparation and guest areas clean, organized, and fully stocked throughout the shift.
- Troubleshoot POS issues and resolve guest concerns efficiently.
- Prioritize multiple responsibilities while working independently in a fast-paced environment.
Operations & Quality Control
- Oversee opening and closing procedures.
- Ensure all station checklists are completed and operational standards maintained.
- Conduct quality assurance checks throughout each shift.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and hygiene regulations.
- Test pools at required intervals and adjust chemical levels as necessary.
- Maintain cleanliness, presentation, and operational readiness throughout the facility.
- Complete detailed post-shift summary reports.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience.
- 2-3 years of restaurant or cafe experience required.
- Demonstrated ability to lead with emotional intelligence.
- Strong conflict resolution, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Comfortable working independently while also leading a team.
- Strong computer skills, including confidence using and troubleshooting POS systems.
- Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.

Pay: $28.00-$30.00 per hour
