Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Dental Office Manager to oversee the daily operations of our dental practice. The ideal candidate will ensure efficient office management, maintain excellent patient relations, and support the clinical team. This role requires strong leadership skills, proficiency with dental and medical software, and a comprehensive understanding of healthcare administration. The Dental Office Manager will play a key role in maintaining compliance, managing staff, and optimizing office workflows to deliver exceptional patient care.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily administrative operations of the dental practice, including scheduling, billing, and patient records
- Supervise front desk staff, dental assistants, and administrative personnel to ensure smooth workflow
- Oversee human resources functions such as hiring, training, performance evaluations, and staff development
- Maintain and update electronic medical records (EMR) systems, including Akitu One and other practice management software
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, privacy laws, and safety standards
- Coordinate with clinical staff to optimize patient flow and appointment scheduling
- Handle budgeting, billing processes, insurance claims processing, and financial reporting
- Facilitate communication between patients, staff, and external vendors or insurance providers
- Implement office policies and procedures to improve efficiency and patient satisfaction
- Support clinical team with administrative tasks related to medical records management and documentation
Experience
- Proven experience managing a dental or medical office environment is required
- Strong proficiency with Akitu One or similar dental practice management software is essential
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and medical terminology is highly desirable
- Prior supervisory or human resources experience in a healthcare setting is preferred
- Background in healthcare administration within dental offices or hospitals is advantageous
- Familiarity with budgeting, billing procedures, insurance processing, and compliance standards in healthcare settings
- Previous experience in hospital or nursing environments with acute care exposure is a plus
