We are looking for an accomplished finance leader to guide strategic planning, financial oversight, and operational performance for a real estate organization in London, Ontario. This role will provide senior-level direction across budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and corporate finance activities while supporting sound decision-making across multiple entities. The successful candidate will combine strong technical finance expertise with business insight to strengthen controls, improve visibility into performance, and contribute to growth initiatives, including acquisition-related analysis when needed. The ideal candidate will bring experience supporting real estate acquisitions (M& A), investment analysis, and growth initiatives, with an understanding of financing, lending programs, cash flow strategy, capital planning, and risk management. This individual will serve as a trusted advisor to ownership and key stakeholders, balancing growth objectives with financial discipline while maintaining strong relationships within the London real estate community.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the finance function by overseeing financial planning, analysis, and day-to-day accounting activities across the organization.
- Direct the annual budget cycle and rolling forecasts, ensuring financial plans align with business priorities, investment objectives, and performance targets.
- Prepare and present timely financial reports, management insights, cash flow analysis, and ad hoc recommendations to support executive decision-making.
- Establish and refine financial controls, reporting practices, and accounting procedures to maintain accuracy, compliance, and operational effectiveness.
- Evaluate corporate finance matters such as capital planning, commercial and CMHC financing opportunities, funding approaches, and financial structures that support business objectives.
- Provide financial leadership for organizations operating across multiple entities, ensuring consistent reporting, coordinated oversight, and effective capital allocation.
- Support business strategy by translating financial results, market conditions, and investment opportunities into actionable recommendations for senior leadership and shareholders.
- Contribute to real estate acquisitions and growth initiatives through financial review, due diligence support, modelling, financing analysis, onboarding, and integration planning where applicable.
- Partner with ownership to assess risk tolerance, optimize financial strategy, and support long-term portfolio growth and investment performance.
- Oversee the effective use of finance-related systems and tools, including expense and accounting platforms, to improve efficiency, reporting quality, and decision support.
- Proven senior finance leadership experience in a Director, VP, or comparable role.
- Strong background in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and core accounting operations.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver meaningful financial analysis and ad hoc reporting for executive stakeholders.
- Experience supporting complex business structures, including oversight of multiple legal entities or business units.
- Knowledge of corporate finance principles, including financing models, capital considerations, and strategic planning.
- Exposure to mergers and acquisitions activities such as due diligence, valuation support, or post-transaction integration.
- Proficiency with accounting and expense management systems, along with strong overall financial systems capability.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence decisions and partner effectively across the business.
