We are seeking a dedicated Produce Clerk to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the freshness and presentation of produce, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the produce department. Duties
- Stock, organize, and display fresh produce items according to store standards and merchandising guidelines
- Ensure all produce is fresh, properly labeled, and rotated regularly to minimize waste
- Assist customers with locating products, answering questions, and providing recommendations
- Maintain cleanliness of the produce area, including cleaning floors
- Perform cashiering duties when needed, including processing transactions accurately
- Monitor inventory levels, and place orders
Skills
- Previous experience in retail sales or grocery store environments is preferred
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively
- Excellent organizational skills to manage stock rotation and display arrangements
- Knowledge of merchandising techniques to enhance product presentation
- Basic cleaning and maintenance skills to uphold sanitation standards in the department
- Cashiering experience is beneficial for handling transactions efficiently
- Good communication skills for teamwork and coordinating with other departments
