Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on farm machinery, irrigation systems, and power tools to ensure optimal operation.
- Operate heavy equipment safely for land preparation, planting, and harvesting activities.
- Use hand tools for various tasks including pruning, planting, and equipment adjustments.
- Monitor crop health and implement horticultural practices to promote healthy growth.
- Assist with irrigation setup, troubleshooting, and system repairs to ensure efficient water distribution.
- Conduct inspections of farm infrastructure and equipment, identifying issues early for timely resolution.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment usage, and crop progress.
- Assist with heavy lifting of materials or produce as needed to support daily farm operations.
Skills
- Mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting and repairing farm machinery and equipment.
- Experience with irrigation systems and horticultural practices.
- Ability to operate heavy machinery safely and efficiently.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
- Strong understanding of maintenance procedures for farm equipment.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while adhering to safety protocols.
- Knowledge of farm machinery operation including tractors, tillers, or similar equipment is preferred.
- Physical stamina for long periods of standing, walking, or lifting during demanding workdays.
