Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Serveur(euse) to join our dynamic restaurant team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional guest service, ensure food safety and sanitation standards are upheld, and contribute to a welcoming dining experience. This role involves taking orders, serving food and beverages, handling transactions, and maintaining a clean and organized service area. Previous experience in food service or the food industry is preferred, along with strong communication and time management skills.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and provide attentive customer service throughout their dining experience.
- Serve food and beverages efficiently while maintaining presentation standards
- Handle cash transactions accurately through cashiering and cash handling procedures
- Upsell menu items to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales opportunities
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of tables, service stations, and dining areas in compliance with food safety standards
- Assist in food preparation or kitchen tasks as needed to support overall restaurant operations
- Manage guest inquiries promptly, ensuring a positive experience through excellent guest services
- Practice proper food handling techniques to uphold health regulations and safety standards
- Demonstrate effective time management to serve multiple tables efficiently during busy periods
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environment is highly desirable
- Knowledge of POS systems, particularly Micros POS, is preferred
- Strong customer service skills with a focus on hospitality and guest satisfaction
- Ability to handle food safely, including sanitation and proper food handling procedures
- Basic math skills for cashiering, billing, and upselling products
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks during high-volume periods
- Good communication skills to interact effectively with guests and team members
- Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment with a positive attitude
- Food industry or serving experience is an asset but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidate
