Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Scale House Operator to manage weight measurements and oversee material flow at our warehouse facility. This role is essential for maintaining accurate inventory records, coordinating shipping and receiving activities, and supporting overall warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will have experience with warehouse management systems, forklift operation, and order fulfillment processes to ensure efficient and safe operations within a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Operate scale equipment to weigh inbound and outbound materials accurately
- Manage shipping and receiving processes, including verifying loads and documentation
- Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS), MRP, AS400, and other software to track inventory and order status
- Load and unload trucks using forklifts, reach trucks, or other material handling equipment
- Assist with order picking, packing, and packaging to fulfill e-commerce orders efficiently
- Support warehouse distribution activities by coordinating with warehouse staff for timely processing
- Maintain safety standards during all operations, including proper use of equipment and adherence to safety protocols
- Keep detailed records of shipments, weights, and inventory movements for reporting purposes
Requirements
- Proven experience in warehouse management, shipping & receiving, or related roles
- Ability to operate forklifts, reach trucks, and other warehouse equipment safely
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems such as WMS, MRP, AS400 preferred
- Basic math skills for calculating weights, measurements, and inventory counts
- Experience with order fulfillment, order picking, load & unload activities in a distribution setting
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for accurate recordkeeping
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety standards
- Prior experience in e-commerce or packaging operations is a plus
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds as needed
Pay: $17.36-$20.00 per hour
