Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our dynamic culinary team. This role is essential in ensuring the timely preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes that meet our restaurant’s standards. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, excellent kitchen skills, and a commitment to food safety and customer satisfaction.
Duties
- Prepare ingredients and assemble dishes according to recipes and restaurant standards
- Cook menu items efficiently while maintaining quality and presentation
- Assist with food preparation tasks, including chopping, marinating, and portioning ingredients
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including sanitizing work surfaces and utensils
- Follow food safety guidelines to ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of food products
- Support the team during busy hours by managing multiple orders simultaneously
- Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with health regulations and safety standards
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and timely service
Experience
- Previous restaurant line cook experience is required
- Experience in casual fine dining or fine dining environments
- Availability to work weekends and Mondays/Tuesdays (mandatory)
- Experience with Mediterranean food/cuisine (or strong familiarity with similar cooking styles)
- Familiarity with food preparation, cooking techniques, and meal assembly
- Knowledge of food handling procedures and safety regulations in a commercial kitchen setting
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
