We are looking for two experienced servers to join our team. As a Server, you'll play a key role in creating a welcoming dining experience by providing friendly, attentive service and ensuring every guest leaves satisfied. The ideal candidate is confident managing a busy section, works well under pressure, and is a reliable team player.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hospitality professional looking for extra income, a post-secondary student with serving experience, or anyone who has weekend mornings free and is looking for a consistent part-time schedule with good tip potential.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and provide friendly, professional service
- Take food and beverage orders accurately
- Answer questions about the menu and make recommendations
- Serve food and beverages promptly and efficiently
- Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction throughout their meal
- Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure accurate and timely order delivery
- Process cash and credit card transactions accurately
- Upsell menu items and beverages when appropriate
- Maintain a clean and organized dining room, including bussing and resetting tables
- Assist with opening and closing duties, including sweeping, mopping, cleaning washrooms, and general restaurant cleaning
- Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures
- Help wherever needed to support the team and ensure smooth service
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of serving experience
- Ability to confidently manage a full section of up to 10 tables (approximately 24 guests)
- Strong customer service and hospitality skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Basic math skills and experience handling cash and card payments
- Knowledge of food safety practices
- Cashier experience is an asset
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and help wherever needed
- Valid Serving It Right certification
Shifts
Position A (Approx. 12 hours/week)
- Tuesday: 5:30 p.m. – Close (approximately 9:30 p.m.)
- Wednesday: 5:30 p.m. – Close (approximately 9:30 p.m.)
- Sunday: 4:00 p.m. – 7:00/8:00 p.m.
Position B (Approx. 8 hours/week)
- Saturday: 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
- Sunday: 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Flexibility to cover additional shifts is an asset. There may be opportunities to take on more regular hours in the future based on performance and reliability.
Compensation & Perks
- $18.25/hour + tips (typically $60–$80 per shift)
- Staff meal provided during shifts
Timeline
We plan to begin interviewing candidates during the week of August 3. Successful applicants will start paid training during the week of August 10. Please note that tips are not shared during training, but all training hours are paid at your regular hourly wage. We expect new team members to be fully trained and ready to cover scheduled shifts starting the week of August 24.
