Through initiatives such as Kinsmen Jackpot Bingo, the Kin Kar Raffle, and numerous charitable and community-driven projects, we raise funds to support causes across Manitoba. We are seeking a creative, organized, and community-focused Communications Co-Ordinator to help strengthen our brand, promote our events, and connect meaningfully with the community.
Position Overview
This hands-on role blends marketing, communications, and community engagement. The coordinator will support and execute marketing campaigns, manage digital and social platforms, represent the organization at events, and help tell the story of the Winnipeg Kinsmen through compelling content. The ideal candidate is creative, detail-oriented, and passionate about community service, with the ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic, in-office environment.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing & Communications
- Develop and execute marketing and communications strategies to promote events, initiatives, and fundraising campaigns
- Create engaging content for social media, website, email campaigns, and print materials
- Manage and maintain social media channels, including content creation, scheduling, and engagement tracking
- Maintain and update the website, including featured charity partners and event information
- Assist with media relations, including drafting press releases and coordinating interviews
- Monitor, analyze, and report on campaign performance, engagement metrics, and monthly marketing results
- Ensure consistent brand messaging across all platforms and materials
Community Engagement & Events
- Represent the Winnipeg Kinsmen at community events and outreach initiatives
- Build and maintain relationships with community groups, nonprofits, volunteers, and stakeholders
- Capture photo and video content at events for storytelling and future campaigns
- Support the planning and execution of signature events , community drives, and fundraising initiatives
- Organize and support volunteer and outreach programs
- Attend events during and outside regular business hours as required
Collaboration & Strategy
- Work closely with internal teams, the KJB and KCOW executive, and external partners to align marketing efforts with organizational priorities
- Provide general marketing and communications support as needed
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in marketing, communications, or social media management
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Experience with social media management, content creation, and digital marketing tools
- Creative storytelling skills using photography, video, and written content
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Self-motivated and comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Ability to engage with diverse communities and stakeholders
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license
- Passion for community service and charitable initiatives is an asset
