Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Deck Builder/Carpenter to join our construction team. This role involves building and installing decks, performing various carpentry tasks, and contributing to diverse construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in carpentry and construction, with experience in blueprint reading, using hand and power tools, and working with different building materials. This position offers the opportunity for monthly bonuses based on performance and project completion.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to ensure accurate project execution
- Construct, install, and repair decks, ensuring structural integrity and safety standards are met
- Operate hand tools, power tools, heavy equipment, and machinery necessary for construction tasks
- Perform concrete forming, finishing, and masonry work as required for project specifications
- Install cabinets, flooring, tile, plumbing fixtures, electrical components, and perform restoration or renovation tasks
- Apply caulking and sealing techniques to ensure weatherproofing and durability of structures
- Estimate construction costs and materials needed for projects to assist in planning and budgeting
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently while maintaining safety protocols
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment throughout each phase of construction
Qualifications
- Proven experience in carpentry, construction, or related trades such as masonry or electrical work
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings accurately
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, heavy equipment operation, and specialized building techniques
- Knowledge of concrete forming, finishing, tile laying, flooring installation, plumbing, welding, restoration work, and cabinetry installation is a plus
- Strong understanding of safety procedures on construction sites
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Valid <PERSON> license or relevant certifications preferred but not required
