The Annapolis Valley Chamber of Commerce (AVCC) is seeking an inspiring, strategic, and community-minded Executive Director to lead our organization into its next chapter. Reporting directly to the volunteer Board of Directors, you will serve as the primary spokesperson and champion for the Annapolis Valley business community, driving regional prosperity across the Annapolis Valley.

What You'll Be Doing:
- Strategic Leadership & Governance: Collaborating closely with the Board of Directors to execute the Chamber's annual programs and Strategic Plan.
- Community Relations & Advocacy: Serving as the lead spokesperson for the AVCC and building strong partnerships with local, regional, and provincial organizations.
- Financial & Operational Stewardship: Developing and managing the annual budget and business plan alongside the Board Treasurer and bookkeeper to ensure strict financial accuracy.
- Team Leadership: Recruiting, mentoring, and evaluating Chamber staff to foster a high-performing work culture.
- Program & Event Oversight: Guiding the development of high-impact events and membership value programs that support our 400+ member businesses.
- Communications & Reporting: Leading the Chamber's communication strategies, external messaging, and producing quarterly and annual reports.
Experience & Requirements:
- Proven Leadership: Experience leading a membership-based organization, non-profit, association, or equivalent business environment.
- Board Experience: Demonstrated experience working closely with, or reporting to, a volunteer Board of Directors.
- Education & Experience: Post-secondary education in business, community development, or a related field—though we value results and consider an equivalent mix of professional experience.
- Core Competencies: Exceptional communication and public speaking skills, strong financial/budgeting literacy, and solid project management capabilities.
- Technical & Tools Acuity: Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite. Familiarity with QuickBooks or membership management systems is an asset.
- Travel Assets: Must possess a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle for regional travel.
