Terry Lavallee Construction Ltd. is currently looking for a dependable and hardworking Heavy Equipment Operator to join our crew. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work safely and efficiently in varying weather conditions.
Responsibilities:
- Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently
- Communicate with crew members over radio
- Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance checks
- Work independently and as part of a team
- Follow company safety procedures and expectations
- Assist the crew where needed and cover shifts when required
Requirements:
- Valid driver’s licence required
- Valid Class 3 licence required
- Class 1 licence is considered an asset, but not required
- Experience operating heavy equipment is considered an asset
- Mechanically inclined is considered an asset
- Must be able to communicate effectively over radio
- Ability to work long hours when required
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Must be reliable, punctual, and safety conscious
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must be available to work on short notice when needed
- Ability to cover employee days off and assist the crew as required
- Must be a reliable contact and respond in a timely manner
- Flexibility with scheduling is important during busy seasons
