Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Automobile/Tire & Lube Technician to join our automotive service team. This role involves performing a variety of maintenance, repair, and tire services to ensure customer vehicles are operating safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background, excellent customer service skills, and experience working with automotive systems. Prior dealership or mechanic experience is highly valued, along with proficiency in using hand tools and power tools. Responsibilities
- Conduct routine vehicle maintenance including oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and fluid top-offs
- Perform tire replacements, balancing, and alignments as needed
- Diagnose mechanical issues using appropriate tools and techniques
- Utilize hand tools and power tools to repair or replace automotive components
- Maintain detailed records of services performed on each vehicle
- Assist customers by explaining repairs and recommending additional services when appropriate
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and manufacturer specifications
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe at all times
- Support the sales team by providing technical knowledge about services offered
Skills
- Dealership experience or previous mechanic experience is preferred
- Strong mechanical knowledge of automotive systems and repairs
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and automotive maintenance equipment
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely (up to 50 pounds) as required for tire handling and parts replacement
- Knowledge of automotive repair procedures and safety protocols
- Ability to work efficiently in a team environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Basic sales skills to recommend additional services or products when appropriate
