Location: Lethbridge, AB
Position: Small Business Advisor, Full-Time
Reporting to the Branch Manager, the Small Business Advisor builds and manages relationships with small business members by providing trusted financial advice, tailored banking solutions, and support throughout the business lifecycle. Acting as a primary point of contact, the Advisor works to understand members’ goals and challenges while aligning solutions with the Credit Union’s cooperative values and risk appetite.
What You’ll Do:
- Build trusted relationships with business members by understanding their goals, financial needs, and long-term plans, and delivering advice that supports their financial well-being.
- Grow and manage a portfolio of business members through proactive outreach, referrals, networking, and community involvement.
- Identify opportunities to deepen relationships by recommending tailored lending, deposit, and cash management solutions that meet members’ evolving needs.
- Analyze financial information and structure sound credit recommendations for business lending opportunities, including operating lines, term loans, and commercial mortgages.
- Partner across the credit union to deliver a seamless member experience while maintaining strong risk management, regulatory compliance, and portfolio quality.
Who You Are:
Our ideal candidate will have the following:
- Post-secondary education in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in small business banking or financial services.
- Strong understanding of small business financial statements and credit adjudication.
- Excellent relationship management and communication skills.
- Experience working in a credit union or cooperative financial institution.
- Small business or commercial lending certification.
