Aqua Essence Swim Academy:
Aqua Essence Swim Academy is a leading swimming and first aid school focused on helping students of all ages – from infants to seniors – feel comfortable, strong, and competent in the water and beyond. Since its launch in 2002, Aqua Essence has trained thousands of swimmers in Manitoba.
The Academy offers a variety of program options in swimming, lifesaving, first aid, Red Cross, triathlon training, and more.
Position:
We are looking for energetic, reliable person to facilitate teaching the Red Cross Babysitting, Stay Safe! and First Aid Heroes courses to children and youth. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with kids and are looking for flexible teaching opportunities.
The courses are 4 to 7 hours in length and are taught to participants aged 8- 15, at various locations throughout Winnipeg Schools. Both online and in-person training would be provided to the successful candidate, prior to the commencement of work.
Responsibilities:
- Lead engaging and age-appropriate safety courses for youth ages 8–15
- Create a fun, safe, and structured learning environment
- Confidently manage groups of approximately 10–25 participants
- Follow Red Cross and Aqua Essence curriculum and instructional standards
- Set up and clean up course materials as required
Qualifications:
All applicants are required to have the following certifications:
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR Level C (or willingness to obtain)
- Completed a recent Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Must be a minimum of 17 years of age
- Strong communicator with a positive, encouraging attitude
- Experience working with children and youth
- Comfortable leading groups and speaking in front of youth
- Personal transportation is required (travel to various schools within the city)

Pay: $20.00 per hour
