Summary:
We are seeking a Farmhand/ Mechanic for Property in Abbotsford, BC
About the Job/Responsibilities:
- Feed and care for all animals daily (Includes horses, dogs, cat etc.)
- Administer needles, deworming, etc.
- Keep all barns clean (Every second day for cows, three times per week for the horses)
- Any miscellaneous work/cleaning required
- Cut hay three times per year, and maintain all field preparation (e.g., spreading manure)
- Maintain all farm equipment; perform regular oil checks and equipment cleaning
- Must be familiar with driving tractors
- Perform minor preventative maintenance and repairs
- Coordinate all additional maintenance with an approved repair person
- Build, fix and maintain all fences, gates and any added areas
- Cut grass three times per month in the spring and summer months
- Clean swimming pool three times per month, test and add appropriate chemicals once per month
- Develop and maintain a task list
- Include all daily, monthly, annual and ad hoc duties to be completed
- Provide list updates weekly and reports on outstanding work
- Prepare Budget costs for anything that arises
About You/Requirements:
- Work Conditions: high physical demand, fast-paced environment
- Previous experience is an asset
