Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive repair, heavy equipment maintenance, and industrial machinery. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of heavy-duty vehicles and equipment, including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery. The Heavy Diesel Mechanic will utilize mechanical knowledge, electrical experience, and a range of hand and power tools to ensure optimal operation of all equipment. Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostics and repairs on heavy diesel engines and industrial equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, filter replacements, and system inspections
- Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues
- Operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other specialized machinery safely and effectively
- Conduct heavy lifting as required for parts replacement or assembly tasks
- Repair HVAC systems related to heavy equipment when necessary
- Follow safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment at all times
- Document repair procedures and maintenance activities accurately in company records
- Assist with the assembly or disassembly of complex machinery components when needed
Experience
- Dealership experience is highly desirable
- Proven mechanic experience with heavy diesel engines and industrial equipment
- Familiarity with excavator, crane, forklift, and farm machinery repair
- Knowledge of Caterpillar equipment is a plus
- Skilled in welding, electrical systems troubleshooting, schematics reading, and HVAC repairs
- Experience operating heavy equipment or performing maintenance on industrial machinery
- Ability to work with hand tools, power tools, and perform heavy lifting safely
- Strong customer service skills are beneficial for interacting with clients or team members regarding repairs or maintenance needs
This position requires a dedicated professional with comprehensive mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience in heavy diesel engine repair. Candidates should be comfortable working with various types of industrial equipment in a fast-paced environment while adhering to safety standards.
Pay: $20.00-$40.00 per hour
