We are seeking a detail-oriented SMT Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, the successful candidate will be rresponsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring selective soldering and wave soldering equipment used in the assembly of printed circuit boards (PCBs). This role ensures products are manufactured to quality standards, production schedules, and customer specifications while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Set up, operate, and monitor selective solder and wave solder machines for PCB assembly.
- Load and unload printed circuit boards and production materials.
- Perform machine changeovers and adjustments according to work instructions and production requirements.
- Verify machine settings, solder levels, flux application, and conveyor parameters before production runs.
- Conduct visual inspections of solder joints and completed assemblies for quality and workmanship.
- Identify and report soldering defects, equipment issues, or process abnormalities.
- Complete production documentation and maintain accurate manufacturing records.
- Follow IPC standards, work instructions, and quality control procedures.
- Perform routine equipment cleaning and basic preventive maintenance activities.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to safety, quality, and productivity.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in Electronics Manufacturing industry.
- Experience operating selective solder or wave solder equipment is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with PCB assembly processes and electronic components.
- Ability to read and follow manufacturing documentation and work instructions.
- Basic computer skills for production reporting and data entry.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- IPCA-610 or IPC-J-STD-001 Certification is an asset
- Good command of computer knowledge in a Windows based environment.
- Strong English verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Understanding of electronic manufacturing processes and soldering principles.
- Ability to recognize common soldering defects and quality concerns.
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
Working Conditions:
- Ability to stand for extended periods during shifts.
- Frequent use of hands and fingers to handle components and materials.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs (11 kg) occasionally.
- Ability to work safely around manufacturing equipment and production machinery.
- May require bending, reaching, and repetitive movements.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Exposure to soldering materials, fluxes, and manufacturing equipment.
- Regular adherence to ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) control procedures.

Job Type: This is an in-person full-time position (40 hours per week) from Monday to Friday at our warehouse in Burnaby, BC.
We have two shifts available. 7:00AM-3:30 PM or 3:00PM to 11:30PM. Please specify which shift you would be applying for.
Salary: $41,600 to $49,920 based on experience ($20.00-$24.00 per hour).
