Job Description
- As an Avionics Systems DAD, you will be responsible for various tasks related to the development, testing, certification, production, and in-service support of advanced business aircraft avionics systems.
More specifically:

Be responsible for and support the timely integration of systems such as AFCS, Communications (VHF, HF, SATCOM, Datalink), Navigation (ADF, VOR, ILS, DME, TCAS, Transponder, IRS, GPS, FMS, Weather Radar), Displays (EFIS, EICAS, HUD, SVS), Information/Maintenance & Recording Systems (IMS, OMS, Data Loading, CVR, FDR, AHMS), and others on the aircraft.

Support the definition and management of overall system and subsystem requirements to ensure safety, certification, and compliance with aircraft design objectives.

Work with system suppliers, as well as other suppliers and program disciplines, to ensure proper design, seamless integration, and compliance with certification requirements.

Assist with or participate in certification tests, inspections, and/or audits.

Review and approve compliance reports on behalf of Bombardier in accordance with approved certification plans.

Ensure the continued airworthiness of avionics systems in compliance with applicable regulations, standards, and reference documents.

Approve and recommend certification plans on behalf of Bombardier to obtain regulatory authority acceptance regarding means and methods of compliance and level of involvement.

Support the final assembly line and in-service aircraft with any design-related issues and ensure their resolution.

Participate in the development and implementation of tools and processes required to achieve organizational objectives.
Your Profile
-
You hold a university degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or an equivalent field.

Current DAD/DAR status or candidate status preferred (having met the requirements of Canadian AWM 505 “Delegation of Authority” standard 505.409).

You have a working relationship with Transport Canada (TCCA), EASA, or FAA.

You are knowledgeable in civil airworthiness regulations FAR Part 25 for avionics systems and applicable industry reference documents, including RTCA and ARP, related to TCCA, EASA, and FAA certification requirements.

You have extensive experience in the design, testing, and certification of autopilot, communication, navigation (including FMS), indication/recording systems, onboard maintenance systems, and related avionics systems.

Knowledge and/or experience with Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA) systems.

You are familiar with industry standards DO-178, DO-160, DO-254, ARP4754, and ARP4761.

You possess strong verbal and written communication skills.

You have excellent problem-solving, planning, and prioritization abilities.
