Hi-Kalibre Equipment is looking for a responsible and motivated Valve Technician to join our team in Edmonton, Alberta. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is mechanically inclined and eager to start or grow their career in the oil and gas industry.
As a Valve Technician, you will assist with the service, repair, assembly, and testing of industrial valves and related equipment. You will receive on-the-job training from experienced team members while learning our products, processes, and quality standards. Role Responsibilities:
- Dismantle and clean incoming valve repair work in a safe and timely manner.
- Learn to inspect, measure, and evaluate equipment to determine repair requirements.
- Assist with the assembly of new OEM and customer equipment while maintaining high quality standards.
- Perform shop tasks such as painting, lapping, and preparing components for assembly.
- Safely operate shop equipment, including cranes, lathes, drill presses, parts washers, and other machinery (training provided as required).
- Report quality concerns through our Non-Conformance Report (NCR) process.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and quality standards.
- Complete daily equipment inspections and assist with routine maintenance checks.
- Work collaboratively with the team to meet production and repair schedules.
Role Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Mechanical aptitude with an interest in learning industrial equipment and repair processes.
- Previous mechanical, shop, labour, automotive, agricultural, or trades experience is considered an asset.
- Oilfield or industrial experience is an asset.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn new skills.
- Reliable, safety-focused, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to stand and/or sit for extended periods.
- Ability to bend, kneel, twist, and climb stairs.
- Ability to lift and carry equipment safely.
- Comfortable working in a shop environment with exposure to dust, fumes, varying temperatures, and humidity.
- Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
