CNC Operator (Day/Night Shift) – Contract Position
Overview
We are seeking a skilled CNC Operator for DAY/NIGHT shifts to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background, experience with CNC machinery, and proficiency in programming and blueprint reading. This role offers an opportunity to work with advanced equipment such as CNC lathes and milling machines, utilizing a variety of hand and power tools within a lean manufacturing environment. The position requires attention to detail, safety consciousness, and the ability to operate efficiently across different shifts to meet production goals.
This is a contract-based position for approximately 2–3 months.
Shift Schedule:
- Day Shift: Monday–Thursday, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM; Friday, 7:30 AM – 11:00 AM
- Evening Shift: Monday–Friday, 4:15 PM – 2:45 AM
Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and monitor CNC machines including CNC lathes and milling machines using Fanuc controls.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD files to produce precise components.
- Program CNC equipment utilizing CNC programming skills and SolidWorks or other CAD software.
- Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and basic repairs on machinery to ensure optimal operation.
- Use precision measuring tools such as calipers to verify dimensions and quality standards.
- Maintain accurate documentation of production processes and machine logs.
- Assist in tooling changes, machine adjustments, and calibration procedures.
- Follow safety protocols including proper use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and forklift operation when necessary.
- Support lean manufacturing initiatives by identifying process improvements and maintaining clean work areas.
- Collaborate with team members in assembly and machining tasks to meet production deadlines.
Experience
- Prior experience operating CNC machinery such as CNC milling machines or CNC lathes is preferred.
- Knowledge of Fanuc controls and CNC programming is highly desirable.
- Mechanical knowledge including familiarity with machining processes, blueprint reading, and use of calipers or other precision measurement tools.
- Experience with SolidWorks or CAD software for part design or modifications is a plus.
- Basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations related to machining tasks.
- Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, welding, forklift operation, and assembly processes is advantageous.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles will be considered an asset.

Pay: $22.00-$23.00 per hour
