Canadian Welding Skills is seeking a knowledgeable, reliable and engaging Part-time Welding Theory Instructor to join our team. We are looking for an individual who is passionate about developing the next generation of skilled welders by delivering high-quality classroom instruction in welding theory.
The Instructor will be responsible for delivering practical demonstrations and one-on-one tuition. Working as a member of a tight-knit team, you will be required to demonstrate high levels of flexibility and outstanding communication skills. You will also be responsible for performing shop duties, such as care and maintenance of equipment and material preparation.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Position Type: Part-time (20-25hrs)

Location: Ennismore, Ontario
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: (include but are not limited to)
· Deliver classroom instruction in welding theory to adult learners
· Plan implementation of program curriculum (on individual basis/ as student progresses)
· Assess and evaluate student development
· Maintain records and prepare reports
· Care and maintenance of equipment and shop
· Prepare materials for class
· Assist in organizing welder certification through Canadian Welding Bureau
· Liaise with inspectors
· Prepare paperwork for certification
· Prepare test coupons for evaluation by inspector
· Maintain inventory
· Meet with new clients through information sessions and perform welding assessments
· Foster a positive, respectful and professional learning environment
· Work collaboratively with practical shop instructors to ensure student success
· Maintain accurate student records
DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
· Strong understanding of welding theory, fabrication and industry standards
· Must be able to demonstrate practical skills in Stick (SMAW), Mig (GMAW), Flux-Core (FCAW) and Tig (GTAW)
· Must have experience in welding alloys (carbon steel, stainless steel and aluminum)
· Must be proficient in shop practices and use of all shop equipment such as Oxy Fuel Cutters, Plasma Cutters, Bandsaw, Grinders and Ironworker
· Must be able to demonstrate thorough knowledge of welding symbols and reading / interpreting blueprints
· Strong trade math skills are essential
· All Position CWB and TSSA Pipe tickets an asset (Able to pass CWB /TSSA weld tests if not already certified/ tickets expired)
· Interprovincial Red Seal an asset
· Comfortable teaching adult learners with varying experience levels
· Ability to weld SMAW/GTAW pipe an asset
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
· Strong organizational, time management and problem-solving skills
· Ability to multi-task and manage priorities
· Able to work independently and under minimal supervision
· Pays attention to detail, is reliable, organized and professional

· Welding: 5+ years
