What is the Role?
The Installer - Transport Refrigeration role is located at our Edmonton office and reports directly to the Shop Service Manager. The Installer performs technical tasks to aid in the assembly, installation, operation, maintenance and repair of variable speed and diesel driven cooling/heating systems, components and mechanical equipment on trucks, trailers and intermodal containers.

Responsibilities of this position include:
- The Installer will install truck and trailer heaters (APUs) and refrigeration units
- Main duties will be the installation of the transport refrigeration units; wiring and routing of hoses and light fabrication
- Read, interpret and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of material and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble equipment and products
- Ensure work is completed to standard
- Other shop duties as assigned
Required Education, Skills and Qualifications
- Mechanical Education/Training with a recognized Post-Secondary Trade Institution
- Work effectively as both a team player and an individual contributor
- Able to read/understand mechanical drawing and schematics
- Excellent communication skills; listening, written and oral
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively
- Proficiency with all tools of the mechanical trades
- Previous experience with Reefer and A/C units (Carrier – Transicold and Thermo King reefers and APU’s, Webasto & Proheat heaters) in the transportation industry
- Previous experience installing refrigerated and heated trailers would be an asset
- Technical and mechanical aptitude
