Meridian Surveys is hiring a Survey Crew Chief to join our field crews working out of our Sherwood Park Office. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys the outdoors, travelling, working with equipment, and being part of a hardworking team.
Founded in 1966, Meridian Surveys is a leading survey company serving the resource, pipeline, construction, and municipal sectors with offices throughout Western Canada.
What You’ll Do
- Direct work to the survey assistant with direction from the project manager
- Work outdoors in bush, construction, and remote environments
- Operate ATVs and assist with field operations
- Use tools such as sledges and shovels for monument placement
- Maintain survey equipment, tools, and vehicles
- Follow company safety procedures and protocols
- Potential for travel and shift work
What We’re Looking For
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
- Willingness to travel and work away from home for extended periods
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Geomatics or surveying education
- Previous survey experience and running a crew
Assets (Not Required)
- ATV or snowmobile experience
- First Aid, H2S, or CSTS certifications
Important Information
This position involves:
- Long days and occasional weekend work
- Pipeline applicants can expect extended time away from home depending on project requirements
- Physical outdoor work in varying terrain and weather conditions
- Drug and alcohol testing when required
