Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and versatile person to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in various trades, including carpentry and general maintenance/labour. This role involves performing a wide range of tasks to support construction projects, and renovation efforts. The person will be responsible for interpreting blueprints, operating power tools and hand tools, and ensuring safety and quality standards are met throughout all phases of work.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, and construction drawings to accurately execute project plans
- Using hand tools and power tools including skill saw, table saw, miter saw, drill, etc.
- Execute heavy lifting safely to move materials or equipment on-site
- Follow safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment at all times
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and effectively
Requirements
- Ability to read blueprints, and technical drawings accurately
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools used in construction settings
- Strong understanding of safety procedures related to heavy lifting and construction work
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work in physically demanding environments
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Valid driver’s license preferred but not mandatory depending on job site requirements
- Fall protection certificate is preferred but we can provide training if required
- Proven experience in construction trades such as carpentry or general maintenance person roles

Current project is various rough carpentry including backing and blocking for cabinets and windows for new build apartment buildings downtown Calgary.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00-$35.00 per hour
