Freelance CAD Technician

- Sheridan Sydney Studio is a Toronto-based luxury residential interior design practice. We work on high-end projects across Canada and the US, with a focus on bespoke, detail-driven interiors.
- We're looking for a reliable freelance CAD technician to join us on a part-time basis - typically ranging from 10-25 hours per week, with the potential for more during active project phases.
Responsibilities:
- Produce and refine AutoCAD drawings including floor plans, elevations, reflected ceiling plans, and millwork packages; ability to compile complete drawing sets and detailed construction packages suitable for handoff to builders and contractors
- Build and update SketchUp models as needed to support design development
- Interpret design intent from sketches, notes, and reference imagery
- Manage revisions efficiently and meet project deadlines
- Coordinate with the principal designer on drawing standards and deliverable formats
- Working knowledge of Ontario Building Code as it applies to residential interiors; drawings are produced with code compliance in mind and flagged proactively where relevant
What We're Looking For:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and SketchUp (required)
- Background in interior design, architecture, or a related field
- Experience with high-end residential projects is a strong asset
- Sharp attention to detail and clean, well-organized drawing sets
- Self-directed and communicative - you manage your own time and flag issues early
- Available for occasional quick-turnaround requests
- Ability to conduct site visits in Toronto as needed to verify or capture updated field measurements
Engagement:
- Freelance / contract. Hourly rate, commensurate with experience. This role is primarily remote, though candidates based in Toronto who are open to occasional site visits are preferred.
