Construction Labourer – Telecommunications

DCX Construction is looking for a motivated and reliable Construction Labourer to join our telecommunications crew. This position involves outdoor work completing fiber optic and telecom infrastructure repairs throughout Ottawa and surrounding areas.
Experience in construction or telecom is an asset, but the right candidate with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn will be considered.
Responsibilities
- Spading and trenching cables by hand and with walk-behind trenching equipment
- Splicing fiber optic lines
- Repair and maintenance of telecommunications infrastructure
- Locating and exposing underground utilities safely
- Installing conduit, pedestals, NIDs, and hand holes
- Fiber cutovers and service installations
- Restoring landscaping, asphalt, and concrete after repairs
- Loading, unloading, and organizing tools and materials
- Operating basic power tools and construction equipment
- Following traffic control and job site safety procedures
- Be respectful of homeowners and their property
Preferred Qualifications
- Working at Heights certification
- Ontario Worker Health & Safety Awareness training
- Traffic Control or Book 7 experience
- Utility locate awareness or excavation experience
- Previous fiber optic splicing experience
- Experience using shovels, compactors, saws, or trenching equipment

Job Type: Full-time
Schedule: Monday to Friday, occasional weekends and overtime as required
Work Location: Various job sites across Ottawa and surrounding areas
Pay: From $25.00 per hour
