OPERATIONS CREW MEMBER

Someone to join us this Summer while we work across the Country! If you love working outside, in a team atmosphere, and having FUN while bringing events to life, come join our amazing Operations Team. Experience in the events industry would be a bonus but definitely not required. Looking for individuals with a great work ethic and a pleasant demeanor... we will teach you everything else you need to know.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Contributing to all aspects of this fun and unique event, your hard work and dedication will allow tens of thousands of participants across Canada the opportunity to participate in the funnest and foamiest race on the planet!
JOB OUTLINE
Traveling across 12 event locations over 4 Provinces, as part of a 12 person crew. Setting up and readying the course prior to each event, collaboratively managing event day activities, and then tearing down and packing up the trucks for transport to the next city.
5K Foam Fest offers 20 Obstacles to its participants so there is a lot of equipment involved in putting this event together. We take pride in offering an outstanding experience and expect that all of our employees would be passionate, detail oriented, driven, dedicated, and determined to ensure every event is fun, safe, and successful! Also, we expect all employees to handle all of our property and resources with the utmost care and competency.
Over the course of a weekly schedule you would be involved in the following activities:
- Execute the setup and/or tear-down of course equipment within an assigned schedule, and following instructions of your team lead, and crew supervisor. Course equipment consists of inflatables, wooden and steel structures, scaffolding, tents, etc.
- Keep equipment organized and properly maintained.
- Maintain a safety awareness of yourself, your colleagues, and your surroundings.
- Safely and skillfully operating UTV's and Work/Rental Vehicles.
- Interacting with all participants, venue staff, vendors, and spectators in a professional and pleasant manner.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB
Previous work experience in a similar industry would be ideal, including experience in customer service-oriented businesses and events-related industries.

- Able to stay focused while performing routine, manual tasks including cleaning, and maintenance tasks
- Ability to work in a team environment to gain consensus, share opinions, work through conflict and share a team vision/goal
- Possess a valid driver’s license
WORKING CONDITIONS
We work rain or shine (or wind, or heat) .... the show must go on. This includes hot and humid, cold, wet environments and various terrain.
PHYSICAL DEMAND
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Must be able to work in an outdoor setting.
- Long periods of standing and walking are required
- Physical stamina, repetitive motion, and heavy lifting is a major requirement of these roles.
- Extensive travel (air and road) to various events is required.

Schedule of Cities: Lake Cowichan (Vancouver Island) BC / Surrey BC / Vernon BC / Leduc AB / Cochrane AB / Kitchener ON / Wasaga Beach ON / London ON / Quebec City QC / Montreal QC / Ottawa ON / Uxbridge ON
Typical work week is Wed - Sun / Monday: Travel & Off Day / Tuesday: Day Off
Weeks Off: June 30-July 6 & July 28-August 3rd (travel home and back during off weeks is paid for by the company)
Rate: $250 per work day.
Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 3 months
Pay: $250.00 per day
