Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Kitchen Helper/Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist with food preparation, cooking, and food service operations to ensure smooth kitchen functions. This role is vital in maintaining high standards of food safety and quality, supporting the overall dining experience for our guests. Prior restaurant or kitchen experience is preferred but not mandatory; a passion for food and a strong work ethic are essential.
Responsibilities
- Assist in food preparation and meal assembly according to recipes and quality standards
- Cook and prepare dishes as directed by the head chef or kitchen supervisor
- Handle food safely, ensuring proper storage, sanitation, and cleanliness in compliance with health regulations
- Serve food efficiently and courteously to customers or dining areas
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, utensils, and workstations throughout shifts
- Follow food handling procedures to prevent contamination and ensure freshness
- Support inventory management by organizing ingredients and supplies
- Assist with other kitchen duties as needed to ensure timely meal service
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service, restaurant, or kitchen environment preferred but not required
- Knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety standards
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety protocols
- Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed, including weekends or holidays if required
- Passion for the food industry and a desire to develop culinary skills
