The Head, Corporate Services is responsible for managing the facilities, procurement, material and fleet management programs by providing strategic leadership and operational oversight. Key functions may include but are not limited to:
- Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to teams across facilities, procurement, material management and fleet management.
- Lead process improvement initiatives to increase operational efficiency, streamline workflows, and enhance service delivery.
- Manage all activities by developing, monitoring, revising plans and objectives, directing subordinates and contractors and evaluating performance.
- Manage service and maintenance contracts required in the operation of regional spaces, inventory and fleet.
- Liaise and manage relationships with clients and partners by providing exceptional customer service.
- Act as a resource person by providing subject matter and project-based advice and recommendations to the regional management and employees on matters relating to facilities, materiel, fleet and transportation management.
- Establish the budget requirements for each program and ensure ongoing monitoring and management of these budgets.
- Ensure the proper application of national programs and best practices through effective communication and liaison with other Regions, Headquarters and outside contacts.
- Participate in task force, ad hoc/permanent committees by providing advice and regional perspectives.
- Undergraduate degree and 4 years of relevant experience*, OR
- College diploma and 6 years of relevant experience*, OR
- High school diploma and 8 years of relevant experience*.
The educational program must be obtained from an accredited learning institution recognized in Canada. If you completed a program outside of Canada, you will be required to obtain proof of a Canadian equivalency at your expense from an accredited learning institution recognized in Canada.
Any higher level of education (i.e.: Masters, Doctorate) in a related field of study could be recognized as experience.
- By relevant experience, we mean significant experience, defined as the depth and breadth of experience that would normally be acquired by a person in a position where the performance of these duties constitutes their main functions over that period. The experience must meet the required number of years for each of the responsibilities listed below:
- Working with various levels, vendors and contractors (in the field of facilities management or general contractors or property management) as well as establishing and maintaining professional relationships.
- Managing issues and contracts such as preparing action plans, following policies, determining priorities and methodology, monitoring progress and revising/modifying plans accordingly;
- Working with clients in order to identify requirements and formulate plans.
- Producing written reports, such as briefing notes, evaluations, and plans, intended for management.
Note that significant experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience that would normally be acquired by a person in a position where the performance of these duties constitutes their main functions over that period.
Candidate must also possess:
2 (two) years of experience in a formal supervisory role**. These skills may have been acquired through work experiences within the Service or outside. Tasks include:
- Developing strategies to support activities within the organisation and helping the team understand the goals / objectives.
- Encouraging participation, developing talent, setting objectives and providing performance feedback to employee
- Identifying issues and resolving workplace problems such as absenteeism, conflict.

- Any related experience in the automotive, asset management, or procurement industries.
- Any accreditation in a relevant field, such as BOMI or IFMA certifications (PAC, PMFP, FMC, SMC, FMP, or CFM).

An asset qualification is a qualification which can enhance the ability to perform the work based on current and future business requirements, but which is not strictly required. Positions will be staffed based on the selection decision principle and operational priorities.
