Bee Haven Childcare Centre invites applications from qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Assistant Director of Operations. This role supports the effective daily operation of the centre and contributes to maintaining a safe, inclusive, well-organized, and high-quality environment for children, families, and staff.
About the Role
Working in collaboration with the Director of Operations and the owner, the Assistant Director of Operations supports program delivery, staffing, regulatory compliance, family communication, and centre administration. The successful candidate will demonstrate professionalism, sound judgment, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to high-quality early childhood education.

Start Date: September 2026
Contract Term: 12- to 18-month contract to cover maternity leave
Salary Range: $63,000 to $68,000 per year, plus wage enhancement, if eligible
Hours: 40 hours per week
Location: North Vancouver

Key Responsibilities
· Support the daily operation of the childcare centre, including scheduling, substitute coverage, supplies, documentation, and administrative functions.
· Assist with recruitment, onboarding, orientation, staff communication, and coordination of performance evaluation processes.
· Support compliance with B.C. childcare licensing requirements, including staff-to-child ratios, records, emergency drills, health and safety procedures, and incident documentation.
· Assist with curriculum implementation, programming, special events, and the maintenance of safe indoor and outdoor learning environments.
· Communicate professionally with families, respond appropriately to parent inquiries and concerns, and support tours, registration, and enrolment processes.
· Provide leadership, guidance, and support to educators, substitutes, volunteers, students, and support workers.
· Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate respect for children and families from diverse backgrounds.
Qualifications
· Valid Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate.
· Minimum two years of post-secondary education.
· Minimum three years of management experience in a childcare setting.
· Valid First Aid certificate and Class 4/5 driver’s licence.
· Clear B.C. Criminal Record Review.
· Strong communication, computer, organizational, and teamwork skills.
· Sound knowledge of childcare licensing regulations and centre operations.
