About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Technician to support the installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). The ideal candidate will have hands-on electrical experience, strong troubleshooting abilities, and knowledge of electrical codes, safety procedures, and renewable energy systems. This role involves working on commercial, industrial, and residential EV charging
infrastructure, energy storage systems, electrical distribution equipment, and associated communication/control systems.
Key Responsibilities
The Electrical Technician will be responsible for providing troubleshooting, installation and repair of EVSE and energy storage systems including solar system, lithium-ion battery pack and inverter.
In house or on-site troubleshoot electro-mechanical problems, install, and perform repairs on equipment based on customer demand or need.
Perform electrical testing, verification, and diagnostics on:
Troubleshoot electrical and communication faults within BESS equipment
Conduct firmware updates and configuration of EVSE and BESS.
Provide technical support to the internal teams (customer support team, marketing/sales team)
Properly escalate unresolved issues to appropriate internal teams (e.g. R&D team or IT team)
Install and repair electrical control components on PCB board
Maintain clean and safe work practices with electrical systems by adhering to safety policies, procedures, and processes
Prioritize and manage several open issues at one time
Qualifications
Electrical Engineering Technician diploma or equivalent experienceAn Electrician Certification would be added-value
Experience with EV chargers, renewable energy systems, solar, or battery storage preferred
Knowledge of:
AC/DC electrical systems
Split-phase and three-phase systems
Protection and control systems
Networking and communication protocols
Ability to troubleshoot electrical and control systems independently
Valid Ontario driver’s license
Ability to travel to job sites and work outdoors when required
