Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will support the Executive Chef in overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality food preparation, and maintaining excellent food safety standards. This role is vital in delivering exceptional dining experiences and fostering a positive, efficient kitchen environment. The Sous Chef will demonstrate strong leadership, culinary expertise, and team management skills to uphold our restaurant’s reputation for excellence.
Responsibilities
- Assist in supervising daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to safety standards
- Prepare and cook a variety of menu items with precision and creativity, maintaining consistency and quality
- Oversee food handling and storage procedures to comply with food safety regulations
- Manage kitchen staff by providing guidance, training, and support to ensure efficient team performance
- Collaborate with the restaurant management team to plan menus, control inventory, and manage supplies
- Serve as a leader during service hours, stepping in for the Executive Chef when necessary
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including equipment maintenance and sanitation practices
- Ensure all dishes meet presentation standards and customer expectations
Skills
- Proven supervising experience in a fast-paced restaurant or food service environment
- Strong food preparation and cooking skills across diverse cuisines
- Excellent team management and leadership capabilities
- Extensive food handling knowledge with a focus on safety and sanitation protocols
- Prior restaurant management experience is preferred
- Deep understanding of the food industry, hospitality standards, and customer service excellence
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Exceptional communication skills to coordinate effectively with staff and management
- Knowledge of serving techniques and guest interaction is advantageous
