Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Fire Suppression Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing fire suppression systems to ensure safety and compliance across various facilities. This role requires a strong understanding of system design and construction processes, with an emphasis on safety standards and technical proficiency. The Fire Suppression Technician plays a critical part in safeguarding property and lives by ensuring fire suppression systems are operational and up to code.
Responsibilities
- Install, test, and service fire suppression systems in accordance with industry standards and safety regulations
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance to ensure systems function correctly and efficiently
- Troubleshoot system issues, perform repairs, and replace faulty components as needed
- Review system design plans and assist with system modifications or upgrades
- Perform construction inspections related to fire suppression installations to verify compliance with specifications and codes
- Document all work performed accurately in maintenance logs and reports
- Collaborate with construction teams during new installations or renovations involving fire suppression systems
- Stay updated on industry regulations, safety standards, and new technologies related to fire suppression
Requirements
- Fire Suppression Certification
- 5 years experience in the industry or related fields
- Strong knowledge of fire suppression systems, including installation and maintenance procedures
- Construction experience is preferred to understand building codes and installation practices
- Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and system design documents
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex systems effectively
- Attention to detail and commitment to safety standards at all times
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in various environments
- Relevant certifications or licenses related to fire protection systems are a plus but not mandatory
