MACHINE OPERATOR
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform setup for dies and rolls of all shelving components including removal for inspection, replacement, and/or sharpening, as required.
- Ensure quality control as per engineering specifications and Made in Canada is shown on each component unless specifically excluded.
- Maintain machinery and shelving components on production lines and lubricate properly and regularly as per instructions.
- Ensure production efficiency standards on work procedures are meticulous including recording of data.
- Communicate frequently with operators regarding concerns, discrepancies and have continuous improvement ideas.
- Applicant must be able to work with other employees in a safe, cooperative and efficient manner, following safe work practices at all times.
- Must be consistently punctual and available for a minimum of 40 hours per week and may be required to work afternoon shifts on occasion.
- EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or equivalent, 3-5 years’ practical experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proven skills required in the areas of work prioritization/organization, professionalism, time management, interpersonal interaction, communications and the ability to follow through on completion according to production schedules and customer requirements.
CERTIFICATES: A Lift Truck Operator Certification is an asset.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, an employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts, fork lifts, small machinery and hand tools. He is occasionally exposed to wet, humid or hot conditions or outside weather conditions. The noise level is usually moderate.
