Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Equipment Operator/Labourer to join our construction team. This role involves operating various heavy machinery and performing essential labour tasks to support construction projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, experience with heavy equipment, and a commitment to safety and efficiency on-site.
Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery including dozers, excavators, and graders, with precision and adherence to safety protocols
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and basic troubleshooting on equipment
- Assist with site preparation, grading, paving, and other construction activities as needed
- Support the movement of materials and supplies around the construction site using appropriate equipment
- Follow project plans and specifications to ensure accurate execution of tasks
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety standards at all times
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and safely
Skills
- Proven experience operating heavy equipment including dozers, excavators, loaders, graders, backhoes, and paving machines
- Mechanical knowledge related to heavy machinery maintenance and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with water and sewer installation an asset
- Construction experience demonstrating knowledge of site safety procedures and best practices
- Ability to work in physically demanding environments, including lifting up to 40 pounds and standing for extended periods
- Excellent teamwork skills with a focus on safety and efficiency on large-scale projects
