Key Responsibilities as a Cook:
· Food Preparation: Preparing and cooking meals according to established menus, recipes, and production charts
· Dietary Needs: Preparing and serving meals for residents with therapeutic or special diets.
· Food Handling: Ensuring proper food handling techniques, storage, and temperature audits.
· Health and Safety: Understands and follows all health and safety policies and procedures.
· Cleanliness: Maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen and work areas
· Teamwork: Working collaboratively with other food service staff and adhering to time schedules for meal service.
Qualifications:
· Valid Safe Food Handlers Certificate (preferred)
A. Chef training or Culinary Management Diploma/Certificate
B. Holds a certificate of qualification in the trade of Cook or Institutional Cook
C. Has, in the reasonable opinion of the licensee, appropriate skills, knowledge and experience in the fields of institutional, health care, restaurant or hospitality cooking to perform the duties required of the position.
Requirements prior to starting:
· Vulnerable Sector Check (within 6 months)
· TB skin test (within 1 year)
