Employees are expected to confidently approach customers, offer samples, ask questions, recommend products, explain product details, and help convert passing shoppers into customers. We are looking for a Sales Associate to join our team who is as excited about our company vision as we are. We are looking to hire someone who is very outgoing and comfortable engaging with customers. You will be selling and sampling lots of food items, so an appreciation for good food and knowledge in the kitchen is a huge asset (this will help you explain the uses of various food products to customers).
We offer a base pay of $20 plus an easily-achievable daily commission structure. This is definitely a position for someone who is sales-motivated.
We are Kelowna's newest one-stop gift shop with a highly curated selection of products from Canadian-based companies (mostly from here in BC). We offer various art pieces and a large selection of food items. Essentially an assortment of our favourite things.
We are looking for a salesperson who can help us keep our reputation of top-notch customer service, something we take very seriously. We aren't looking for someone to be sales-pushy, but rather someone who is excited about our products.
We have a 32-foot kiosk in Orchard Park Mall, right in front of the Food Court, Lush, and Pandora. We operate seasonally from July-Dec, and have lots of room to grow in our company if we feel you are a great fit.
We re-opened July 7th - and it's our fourth year running our kiosk at Orchard Park Mall.
Responsibilities
- Give food samples to customers and explain uses/company info
- Engage with customers in a natural, friendly, manner
- Provide product information and demonstrate features to customers
- Process sales transactions accurately using the Square point of sale (POS) system
- Maintain a clean and organized sales floor
- Upsell products to customers based on their needs
- Perform opening + closing duties accurately
- Work well both solo and with others
Qualifications
- MUST be outgoing and comfortable engaging with customers
- Prior experience in retail sales or customer service is preferred
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively
- Proficiency in cashiering procedures and handling transactions
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent organizational skills to manage inventory and product displays
- Demonstrated ability to upsell and maximize sales opportunities
- We provide comfortable flooring and allow you to wear comfortable shoes - but you must be able to be on your feet for your entire shift
