The company is involved in cost estimating for portfolio projects under $500M, with a focus on gate and funding milestones. This Cost Estimator position sits within an environment that values estimating process efficiency, quality assurance, and collaboration across project and functional teams.
About the Role
The Cost Estimator will support the development of cost estimates and related deliverables, contributing to project planning, benchmarking analysis, and capital efficiency outcomes. This role requires close engagement with project and functional stakeholders to help deliver accurate, well-structured estimating outputs.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop cost estimates for gate and funding milestones.
- Engage with the project team and functional team, including planner and scheduler and accounting staff.
- Assist in the development of C&SE deliverables, including Cost and Schedule Estimate, estimate basis documents, and Benchmarking analysis.
- Identify capital efficiency opportunities and risks on projects.
- Contribute to estimating group process efficiency tools and quality assurance review process improvements.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Advanced level proficiency in Cost Estimating.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering within discipline or equivalent professional experience.
- 15+ years’ of experience working on projects.
- Previous oil and gas cost estimating experience.
- Previous upstream / downstream / manufacturing / refining / midstream cost estimating experience.
- Strong technical mentoring skills.
- Strong cost estimating skillset, including industry programs (e.g., ASPEN, etc.).
- Skills to negotiate and broker successful solutions between Internal Coordination parties above.
- Strong Influencing, consulting, mentoring, analytical, and computing skills.
- Adaptability to changing priorities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to organize, plan, control, coordinate, and effectively manage cross-functional activities.
