About The Current Open Role
As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will play a key role in managing the full accounts payable cycle, ensuring vendor payments, invoices, and expense distributions are accurate, compliant, and processed in a timely manner. You will work closely with internal departments, managers, and external vendors to resolve discrepancies and maintain strong financial controls.
We’re currently seeking a Full-Time Accounts Payable Specialist to join our dynamic team in office 5 days a week.
What We're Looking For
- Process, verify, and code vendor invoices, check requests, and expense reports with high accuracy.
- Match purchase orders to invoices and packing slips (3-way matching) to resolve pricing or quantity discrepancies.
- Prepare, schedule, and execute weekly/bi-weekly check runs, EFTs, and wire payments.
- Maintain accounts payable ledgers, sub-ledgers, and ensure vendor accounts are up to date and reconciled.
- Communicate professionally with vendors and internal department heads to resolve billing inquiries and statement discrepancies.
- Assist in maintaining and reconciling monthly A/P aging schedules.
- Support the month-end close process by preparing journal entries and accrued liability schedules.
- Maintain organized digital and physical vendor filing systems.
What You'll Bring
- Minimum 2–3+ years of dedicated Accounts Payable experience (dealership or automotive industry experience is a strong asset).
- Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, basic formulas).
- Experience with Reynolds & Reynolds or CDK is a strong asset.
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for vendor and cross-department collaboration.
