Operating within Southwood Eyecare, our practice offers a unique combination of advanced medical aesthetics and innovative dry eye therapy under the guidance of our optometrists.
We are seeking a passionate, experienced, and client-focused Medical Esthetician to join our growing team. This position will begin as part-time, with the opportunity to transition into a full-time role. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building long-term client relationships, providing exceptional treatments, and working collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare setting.
Position Summary
The Medical Aesthetician is responsible for delivering exceptional aesthetic and therapeutic services while creating a welcoming, educational, and results-driven experience for every patient. This role combines advanced skin rejuvenation treatments with specialized dry eye therapies in collaboration with the optometry team.
The successful candidate is passionate about skin health, patient care, and continuous learning while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, safety, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Medical Aesthetic Services
Perform professional consultations and develop individualized treatment plans.
Provide medical aesthetic treatments including:
- Customized medical facials
- Chemical peels
- Jet Plasma Pen treatments
- Morpheus8 radiofrequency microneedling
- IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) photofacial treatments
- Radiofrequency skin tightening and rejuvenation
- Medical-grade skincare recommendations
- Pre- and post-treatment patient education
Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans to achieve optimal clinical outcomes.
Maintain accurate documentation, informed consent, treatment records, and clinical photography.
Ensure all equipment is maintained, sanitized, and operated according to manufacturer guidelines and clinic protocols.
Dry Eye Therapy
Work closely with the optometrists to provide therapeutic dry eye treatments.
Assist with:
- Dry eye consultations and patient education
- IPL and Radiofrequency treatments for Meibomian Gland Dysfunction (MGD)
- Eyelid hygiene and ocular surface therapy protocols
- Ongoing patient follow-up and treatment compliance
Educate patients on home care products and long-term dry eye management.
Business Development
Promote Southwood Aesthetics services through patient education and relationship building.
Participate in marketing initiatives, community events, social media content, and promotional campaigns as requested.
Help achieve clinic growth objectives through ethical treatment recommendations and patient retention.
Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and continuing education opportunities.
Qualifications
- Medical Aesthetician Diploma or equivalent recognized certification
- Experience with Inmode Morpheus8, IPL, radiofrequency required
- Experience with Jett Plasma Pen is considered a strong asset
- Experience with dry eye therapies or willingness to complete specialized training
- Experience with chemical peels
