What You'll Be Doing
As a Junior Legal Assistant, you'll work closely with lawyers and experienced support staff while developing your legal and administrative skills.
Responsibilities include:
- Opening, organizing, and maintaining client files
- Drafting and preparing correspondence and legal documents
- Communicating with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and third parties
- Scheduling meetings, appointments, and court dates
- Managing calendars and monitoring deadlines
- Assisting with file management from opening to closing
- Performing conflict checks and file intake procedures
- Supporting lawyers with day-to-day administrative and legal tasks
- Learning new processes and contributing to a collaborative team environment

Preferred Qualifications
- Legal Assistant or Paralegal Certificate/Diploma
- Approximately 1 year of experience in a law firm environment
- Experience in litigation, collections, foreclosure, or related legal work is considered a strong asset
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office
- Experience with LEAP or other legal practice management software is an asset
