Position Overview
We are seeking a Bucket Truck Operator / Field Support to support TELUS residential installations and repairs in the North/West Vancouver area. This is a dual-role position that combines bucket truck operations with hands-on field and operational support for the local technician team.
In addition to operating the bucket truck, this role plays a key part in supporting day-to-day field operations, safety, and logistics to help the K team operate efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities
Bucket Truck Operations
- Operate a TELUS-branded bucket truck safely and professionally
- Hang fibre drops directly to residential homes
- Perform outside plant troubleshooting (aerial, underground, MDUs)
- Assist with fibre infrastructure issues as required
- Support same-day service success and urgent I&R requests
Field & Technician Support
- Assist I&R technicians with:
- Aerial and underground work
- Outside plant troubleshooting
- MDU fibre pulls
- Any task deemed a two-person job
- Provide in-field support to ensure jobs are completed safely and efficiently
Fleet/Yard Support
- Assist with basic fleet management tasks as needed, including:
- Moving vehicles
- Jump-starting vehicles
- Cleaning vehicles
- Stocking vehicles with tools and required equipment
- Maintaining our vehicle yard
Requirements
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s Licence
- Experience operating bucket trucks or aerial equipment (strong asset)
- Strong understanding of fibre drop placement and outside plant work
- Comfortable working at heights and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Physically capable of lifting ladders, tools, and equipment
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently
- Must pass a criminal background check
- Safety-focused mindset with zero tolerance for shortcuts
Schedule
- Full-time position
- Minimum 8-hour shifts
