LUD - Utility Operator
The Rural Municipality of Argyle is seeking a self-motivated individual for a full-time position divided between LUD Operator and Utility Operator.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform general maintenance and beautification of the LUD of Baldur.
- Operate and maintain the municipal water treatment and wastewater systems.
- Conduct water sampling and maintain required operational records.
- Perform mowing, snow removal, and other seasonal maintenance duties.
- Operate and maintain municipal equipment, including mowers, snow blowers, and skid steers.
- Supervise seasonal or casual employees, when required.
- Perform other Public Works duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Experience in municipal operations, utilities, or public works is considered an asset.
- Ability to safely operate and maintain municipal equipment.
- Current Water Distribution and Wastewater certification is an asset. The successful candidate must be willing to obtain Level II Water Distribution and Small System Wastewater certification.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices.
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position.
- Ability to work cooperatively with Council, supervisors, coworkers, contractors, and the public.
- Valid Class 5 Manitoba Driver's Licence.
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check.
Training and certification costs will be paid by the RM. A work truck and cell phone are provided.
