Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Deli Associate to join our team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, preparing a variety of deli foods, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in food service and food handling, with a strong focus on sanitation, safety, and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities
- Prepare and assemble deli items according to company standards, ensuring quality and presentation.
- Operate POS systems such as Micros POS for accurate cash handling and transactions.
- Assist customers with their selections, answer questions about products, and provide exceptional customer service.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the deli area, adhering to food safety standards.
- Manage time effectively to serve customers efficiently during busy periods.
- Upsell products to enhance customer experience and increase sales opportunities.
- Handle cash transactions accurately and balance register at the end of shifts.
- Follow all food handling procedures to ensure safety and compliance with health regulations.
- Restock shelves and display cases as needed to ensure product availability.
Skills
- Experience in food preparation, food service, or restaurant environments is preferred.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Micros POS or similar cash register technology.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and courteously.
- Basic math skills for cash handling and transaction accuracy.
- Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures.
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks during peak hours.
- Ability to upsell products tactfully to enhance sales while providing a positive shopping experience.
- Kitchen or food industry experience is a plus but not required; willingness to learn is essential.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00-$17.00 per hour
