We are a small team operating an open kitchen bakery seeking an experienced Bakery Clerk with a background in bakery settings and customer service. This role offers 20-30 hours per week with shifts starting as early as 9am and ending by 6:30pm, requiring regular weekend availability. The Bakery Clerk will provide exceptional customer service, handle orders, support food preparation, and maintain a clean, safe workspace in compliance with food safety standards.
Responsibilities
Serve walk-up customers and manage phone and online orders
Process custom orders and handle cash transactions accurately
Restock display cases and packaging materials regularly
Assist with preparation tasks including cookie, butter tart, cupcake, icing, and topping production
Maintain cleanliness and adhere to Food Safety Requirements
Work independently and collaborate within a small team
Make decisions that support the business and team objectives
Occasionally support offsite pop-up events as needed
Required Qualifications
2+ years of experience in bakery operations
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid Food Handler's Certificate
Proven customer service and cash handling skills
Strong understanding of food safety compliance
Experience processing orders and basic baking/kitchen skills
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift up to 20kg periodically

Experience with social media for a food business
Pastry experience
Supervisory experience
Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
