North Island Pharmacy is looking for compassionate, skilled Mental Health & Addictions Nurses to join our growing team. In this role, you’ll provide meaningful, client-centered care supporting individuals receiving treatment for mental health and substance use disorders — helping improve stability, safety, and quality of life within a supportive community pharmacy setting.
We are currently hiring for both full-time and part-time positions, offering flexibility while making a real impact in the community.

What You’ll Do
As part of an interdisciplinary care team, you will:

Prepare, deliver and administer Opioid Agonist Treatment (OAT) medications (including methadone, buprenorphine/naloxone, and Kadian) in collaboration with pharmacists and prescribers

During deliveries conduct witnessed ingestion and observed dosing while ensuring safe, accurate medication administration

Monitor client progress, adherence, and overall wellbeing, responding appropriately to clinical or safety concerns

Communicate changes in client presentation, missed doses, or risks to pharmacists and the broader care team

Collaborate with pharmacists, physicians, and community partners to support coordinated care planning

Provide education on OAT, harm reduction, overdose prevention, safe medication storage, and naloxone use

Distribute naloxone kits and support overdose prevention initiatives

Connect clients with community and social supports through referrals and resource navigation

Maintain accurate, real-time documentation and controlled substance records in compliance with provincial guidelines and pharmacy standards

Ensure clinical and pharmacy supplies are maintained to support safe service delivery

Practice in accordance with BCCNM standards, professional regulations, and pharmacy policies
What You Bring

Current registration as an LPN or RN in good standing with BCCNM

Valid BC Driver’s License
-
Experience in mental health and/or substance use care (preferred)

Knowledge of harm reduction and trauma-informed practice

Strong assessment, communication, and collaboration skills
